Also in a position of an offshore Galleyhand you should be ready to demonstrate readiness to obey and quickly do, what asked for or ordered by chef, senior cooks, stewards, or Camp Boss.

Though being not even twice as less demanding as the jobs of offshore laborers in other departments, Galleyhand on offshore rig should be expected to endure easily enough long night shifts when you perform a range of successive tasks in high tempo, hardly having time to have a snack yourself, whilst being engaged in the process of food preparation or assisting to bake bread and rolls to Night Baker.

Offshore Galleyhand's day to day duties and responsibilities could include also big number of different small and minor tasks, for example: Galleyhand may be charged with responsibility to ensure that leftover food is stored or utilized in conformity with existing instructions and make the required records of that, to test the food temperature in the course of cooking etc. - all that being done in addition to his regular kitchen maintenance related duties like emptying trash containers, washing pots and dishes (sometimes Dishwashers and Potwashers are separate positions that are inferior even to Galleyhand).
