The job role of an offshore stewards is they have to maintain an excellent housekeeping throughout the accommodation area in the offshore oil rig. Also assist and prepare the meals in the canteen for all workers on oil rig. Ensure all communal areas are clean and tidy. Assist with the unloading of supplies and report maintenance requirements. I heard about this offshore job and company online where anything can be found, so easy accessed.

What attracts me about working in oil company is the fact by the looks of it in the web site and online they want to provide a good job placement to their employees and to help the public with their supplies from out there, offshore. You care about us, which is the main aspect about life, work together and help each other. About the position I am applying for as a steward, it attracts me the fact it is a job with responsibility like any other and I believe I can apply my previous experience to it and knowledge.

Although it may look like my offshore steward CV doesn't show much experience and knowledge, however I am willing to learn and apply myself completely if the opportunity is given to me, and I am known for not disappointing my employers. All I need is one chance to prove myself. I believe I possess a couple of outstanding skills but the main one for me would be punctuality. What is the point of having a job if you don’t turn up on time? Fair enough some people say accuracy is essential but we will never get everything right all the time, nobody is perfect. I will struggle sometimes to understand what to do but I will ask and perfect it so, however punctuality is the main one. To look good for an employer is to be in the work place on time.

I am available for an interview as offshore steward at any time, I can also travel quite some distance since I have a car to drive or can get a train or a bus. Thank you for taking time to consider my application.

SKILLS: Punctuality is one of the key factors of being a successful offshore steward. I will always try my best to never disappoint a supervisor and the employer itself. I work well with others and sometimes I like to lead and make sure everyone understands what they’re supposed to be doing, if no help them out. I am fluent in two languages – English and Portuguese – which helps a little if there are multinational work colleagues.

Training courses and OPITO certificates: BOSIET with HUET & EBS – this course helped me to understand in case of an emergency in offshore occasion know what to do and how to help others too. OPITO MIST – this course helped me understand what the hazards are and how to carry out risk assessments, also show me to be careful with anything I do while following a permit to work. Food Safety and Hygiene for catering (level 2) – this course pointed out every hazard and safety relating with the food is used at workplace, open my eyes to any unusual thing and if somebody is doing not appropriate to report immediately.

Employment: General Assistant for JG Ross from January 2011 – October 2012. This company is basically food selling business where I worked in one of their cafes, my responsibility was to serve and satisfy every customer and also to follow orders, specially the cleaning at the end of the day had to be spotless, everything had to properly ready and clean for next day, no shortcuts and they never pressured me, just take my time to leave everything in order.

Delivery Man for Shahbaz Takeaway from November 2013 – February 2014. This is a takeaway food business where I worked around 3-4 nights a week, I had to stop regarding the fact I was in a car accident and my car was a write off. I had to make sure the food wasn't damaged while I delivered it, to be at the right door and not late. Make sure customers were happy with their delivery was my priority, then make sure they gave me the right change to then make the employer happy.

Education: Intermediate 2 A Maths, Intermediate 2 A Graphic, Intermediate 2 B Woodwork, Standard Grade 3 Computing, Standard Grade 3 English, Standard Grade 3 French – all achieved in Buckie Community High School during the period of 2011-12 2012-13.

Personal interests: I always want to make sure the employer is happy with me and my job, have a great interaction with co- workers because I believe if you get on well with people, together we can make an excellent work, which is my motivation.
