Petroleum Engineer prepares, organizes and controls the work of extraction, storage and transportation of oil and natural gas. Develops and recommends the best methods of production, extraction and injection. Performs geologic studies and examines soil samples to determine the stratigraphic structural properties of a region. Directly involved in the secondary processes for the transformation of hydrocarbons in raw materials for industry. Performs fault identification by reading instruments. The Technician in Oil, Petroleum Technology or Process Petroleum Refining operates equipment and facilities for exploitation, geological, drilling, refining, production, transportation and storage of oil and its derivatives. Its specific tasks are: the operation and installation of drilling, production, reservoir, transportation; supervision of works, operation and related to the various processes of oil extraction and processing activities.

Offshore Gas Engineer, has skills and abilities that allow you to operate offshore rigs and platforms for the treatment and processing of natural gas, and control industrial processes that occur in plants and natural gas facilities. This offshore job includes planning, management and control projects associated with industry and the natural gas offshore drilling. Oversees the processes of transport and storage; participates in the design, coordination and supervision of the construction of gas rigs; conducts research aimed at studying and developing technologies for the processing of natural gas; ensures the implementation of laws and regulations for the comprehensive protection in plants, facilities, equipment and people working in the processing of natural gas. This candidate takes the necessary steps to constribuir with plant maintenance, facilities and related natural gas handling equipment. Occupational field work area are offshore gas industry, offshore oil industry, petrochemical industry, chemical industry.

Petroleum Engineer Job:

• Monitoring computer recordings of drillings operation. Operating and maintaining a real-time computer- Based data acquisition and gas analysis system, which records all aspects of rig activity.
• Strong all-round background in all aspects of Earth Science and related functions such as: well logging, formation evaluation & Drilling Engineering.
• Monitoring of Drilling parameters, gas level ensure Safe drilling operations, Reservoir evaluation using Gamma ray, Resistivity, Neutron/Bulk density logs.
• I can operate gas while drilling data for pay zone / reservoir evaluation.
• Good knowledge of correlation of LWD/ MWD data with geo- steering encountered lithology to follow the lateral pay zone.
• Good experience of operations like Geo-steering lateral drilling, managed pressure drilling, expandable casing operation, two stage cementing operations.

Welding jobs on oil rigs

An oil rig welders are required periodically to perform underwater welding jobs. The units offshore oil rig construction would rust on the surface of the ocean if there were no welders controlling the vital points of the structures repairing any problems that may arise. There are two types of welders: the platform full-time welders and the contract welders. The platform full-time welders are hired to stay on it and make repairs, if offshore oil companies hire contract welders when there is a lot of jobs to be performed within a short period of time. When these situations arise, the contract welders arrive by helicopter, do their job and go to the next offshore platform that hires them.

Medical offshore oil rig jobs

Physicians of Medical Doctors have a very important mission on the platform to ensure that employees are physically able to perform their jobs. Doctors can determine this through routine exams and assessments are conducted every six months or so. They are also responsible for keeping nursing and ensure that medical supplies are maintained at adequate levels.

Roustabout, Roughneck, Laundryman, Floorhand, Deckands

Job requirements include a laborer to assist staff on the rig floor to keep clean pipes and main deck, guiding the crane as they upload new materials and perform routine maintenance jobs on offshore oil platform. The laborers are also able to free the crew of their duties for a period of time. For example, if a worker got his lunch break, a laborer can simply take his place, giving him a time to eat. This cycle continues until all team members of drilling can continue their work.
